Stephen John Johnston

Stephen (Steve) John Johnston, Age 65, was called to his heavenly home on June 04, 2022. After a long battle with Cancer, with his family by his side, God saw his suffering and took his sweet soul home.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Steve was a loving brother who loved all his siblings. We all spoiled our baby brother. He will be missed by his family, many friends and all who knew him until we meet again.

Steve worked for 20 years, as a CNA for Baptist Hospital Emergency Room. He enjoyed wheeling, dealing and working on his cars. He spent time just driving around to visit his sisters, brother and many other family and friends, he loved them all. He especially loved his sweet dogs, Jazzie and Sarah.

Steve was born to the late Andrew and Nellie Johnston on April 06,1957. He is survived by six sisters, Shirley Cardwell, Brenda Thornton, Dorothy Swartz, Genevie Estep (Larry), Rita Ladd (Ralph), Jackie Askey (John) and one brother Sonny Johnston. Also a special family he loved and lived with for 26 years Johnny, Kasey, J.C. Anna and Gabby Causey who called him pepaw. 

Steve's service will be Monday July 11, 2022, at 1:00pm, visitation with the family 30 min prior to the service. The service will be held at his church, Seventh-day Adventist Church 896 Old Winston Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284, Officiating Pastor Ralph Henderson. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 3250 High Point Rd Winston-Salem NC 27107.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to his church.  Thank You.
