Regina Marie McPhaul

Regina Marie McPhaul was the 2nd oldest of 5 children and the only child born to the late Garfield George and Edna Mae Carter McPhaul on January 20, 1957, in Roswell, New Mexico.  She peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

She attended Guilford County schools in Greensboro NC and later attended Guilford Technical Community College.  Regina  was a key contributor in launching an early college initiative through Bennett College's Americorps program.

In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the a beach.  Her love of being near the water lead to her becoming enthusiastic about fishing.  She was an avid reader of all things, especially the bible.  She was well known for her stylish fashion and her collection of shoes.  Regina was very family oriented.  It was important to her to have family gatherings and make sure she told you she "loved" you.  As her illness progressed, time with family and friends was precious and brought her more joy than words could ever express.  Her greatest loves are her granddaughter Regina and great grandson Chayanne.  They are what kept her heart pumping every day.  They kept the smile on her face and the strength in her spirit when times were tough.  Regina's wisdom, bravery, uniqueness, conversation, leadership, kindness, compassionate nature, and love of family and friends will be missed, but never forgotten.

Regina is preceded in death by her father Garfield, maternal grandfather and grandmother the late Otis and Cora Carter, Uncle Leon Carter, oldest brother Terry McPhaul, and niece Latisha Marie Blane.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Edna Mae McPhaul, daughter Toyrie McPhaul, granddaughter Regina Chyenne McPhaul, great grandson Chayanne James Dick, one uncle Charles Carter, one sister Teressa McPhaul Stephens, two brothers Darren McPhaul, Kirby McPhaul, nieces and nephews, Kirby McPhaul Jr., Derrick Jefferies, Charles Mason, Aprille McPhaul, Jamee McPhaul, Vondelayo McPhaul, Brandee Stephens, Darrell McPhaul, Sharice Blane, great niece and nephews Jayden McPhaul, Lawrence and Victor Burton, London Blane, God-siblings, Euressa Durham, Reginald (Red) Mendenhall, and Yul (LA) Bennerman, her special friend, Olda Poole and a host of other close family and friends.

Mothers never really die, they just keep the house in the sky, they polish the sun by day and light the stars that shine at night, keep the moonbeams bright and in the heavenly home above they wait to welcome those they love. 

Service will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Equation Church 901 Broad Ave, Greensboro NC 27406, Visitation 12:30-1:00pm  Funeral Service starts at 1:00pm.
