Phyllis P. (Albertson) Gerber, age 74, passed away Sunday, September 3,2023 in Greensboro NC. She had been in failing health for the last few years, but her soul is now with the Lord Jesus.
Phyllis was born in Duluth, MN and graduated from Duluth Central High School (Class of 1968) where she lettered in basketball. She attended the regional technical Institute and, later, community college. After spending a few years as a tutor in the Duluth Public Schools, she had a career in museum education. and volunteer services, working at A.M. Chisholm Children's Museum and St. Louis County Historical Society Museum in Duluth, and Fairlawn Mansion Museum in Superior WI, before health issues slowed her down. She took up the internet and moderated a special- interest. discussion board in the years before Facebook.
She loved to travel to new places and to do arts and crafts projects, especially crocheting. Bible reading, hymn singing, and her relationship with God were very important to her. She was a member of The Worship Place UPCI in Greensboro.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy Albertson and Phyllis Walker, and her brothers Roger Albertson and Keith Albertson. She is survived. by her husband Steven Gerber, brother Steven (Mary) Albertson, daughter Linda (George) Princl, stepsons Joseph and David Gerber, six special grandchildren, five special great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral, but a memorial service will be planned for a future date. Cremation services will be provided by Regional Memorial Cremations of Greensboro. Special thanks to the attentive and compassionate medical team in the Intensive Care Unit of Wesley Long Hospital.
