Joan Laverne Wright, age 73, entered her eternal resting place on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at the Hospice Home of High Point in High Point, North Carolina. Joan was born to the late Julius Frank Sr. and Lois Waynick Morehead on August 17, 1950 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was one of six children. Joan was educated in the Guilford County School system where she graduated from Page High School in 1968. Joan was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service for many years until her retirement in 2013. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life. Joan joined the St. James Home of Fresh Start Church in Greensboro, NC where she was a faithful member. She enjoyed working in the church as a member of the culinary ministry, and often helped out anytime there was work to be done. It was no secret how much Joan loved and praised the Lord. Joan also loved to read, bake, listen to gospel music, watch good oldfashioned movies, spend time on her iPad, and her all time favorite was spending time and loving on her family. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Joan never met a stranger and if you were having a not so good day, her warm smile would brighten any mood. Joan was preceeded in death by her parents and nephews, Jamel Morehead and Tyrone Morehead. Joan’s memory will live on in the lives of those she loved. Daughter, Liza Wright, Beloved Granddaughter, Arianna Faith Wright and Grandson Abraham Josiah Wright. Brothers: Julius Frank Morehead Jr. (Alice), James Ervin Morehead (Debbie), Kermit Lee Morehead (Wanda) Sisters: Gloria Ann Trujillo and Pamela Sylvia Morehead.
