July 3, 1946 - November 13, 2025

Jesse Leonard Garner Jr., age 79, of Greensboro, went to his eternal home on Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was surrounded by many loved ones when he passed. Jesse was born in Guilford County on July 3, 1946, to the late Rebecca “Patsy” Cobb Lewis and Jesse Leonard Garner Sr.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Betty Jean Garner Butler and Susan “Susie” Garner Smith, his brother James “Richard” Garner, and his son Ronald “Ronnie” Garner.

Jesse is survived and missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Peggy Clark Garner of the home.  Also left to remember his life and legacy are his brother Jerry “Wayne” Garner (Linda) of Randleman, His children Donald “Donnie” Garner, Johnny Garner, James Allen Barker Jr. (Joan), Keith Garner, Kimberly “Kim” Garner, April Barker Hanes, and Edward “Eddie” Wyrick Jr.

He was a proud and loving Pawpaw to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will dearly miss him, along with many nieces and nephews.

Jesse was known for his infectious smile, compassion, selflessness, hard work, dedication, and had a heart larger than most. He would give you the shirt off his back, his last dollar, and drop everything if someone was in need. Jesse enjoyed cheering on the Washington Commanders, watching western movies/shows, working at Greensboro Honda, and spending time with his family.

The family appreciates all the prayers, calls, messages, and memories shared about Jesse in the days leading up to his passing and after.
