JERRY MICHAEL SANDERS
1953 – 2025
Jerry Michael Sanders, 71, of Greensboro, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
A celebration of life will be held at Lawndale Baptist Church on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M.
Jerry Michael Sanders – known as Mike or Michael - was born on September 17, 1953, in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Mercer University (Macon, GA.) with a BA-Psychology; Atlanta Christian College (East Point, GA) with a B.Th -Theology; and Cincinnati Christian Seminary (Cincinnati, OH) with an MA-Church History.
Michael Sanders, a most loving husband, is survived by his adoring wife of 47 years, Patti Lee Graham Sanders. He is also survived by his sister, Pamela Sue Sanders; 2 nephews, Richard Bruce Mock and Michael Mock; a great-nephew Maddox Mock and great-niece Emeline Mock.
Michael Sanders was, indeed, quite a remarkable man. His multi-faceted gifts and talents allowed him to help many diverse types of people with their diverse types of needs. He delighted in helping people discover their individual strengths, attain their goals, enhance their lives, and examine their walks with the Lord.
Michael was a very gifted Bible teacher. Being a voracious reader, His keen mind loved researching everything as deeply as possible and learning how original languages or knowledge of culture could bring a deeper, richer understanding to Scriptures.
Michael also had a special heart to minister to the downtrodden and the “least of these” in society. He was always mindful that someone who was “down cast” needed extra understanding and care and as being “a bruised reed who should not be broken or flickering flame who should not be put out.” Isaiah 42:3.
Additionally, Michael was also an incredible writer and poet. Other favorite hobbies of his included: reading, shooting, photography, guitar.
If you were fortunate enough to have known or worked with Michael Sanders, you know that these few words barely begin to describe this wonderful man and his legacy.
Michael, you will be very greatly missed!
