Dora Lee (McNair) Brown transitioned this life on May 8, 2020. She was born on January 24, 1951 to the late Marshall Clyde McNair and Emily Mae (Hill) McNair in Newburgh, New York.The youngest of 10 children. It was a New Hope Baptist Church where Dora and family were members and learned about spirituality.

Dora set out to venture into what would become a beautiful life. She attended Newburgh public school system and graduated from. Newburgh Free Academy hand in hand  with high school sweetheart, who would eventually become her husband, the late Thomas J. Brown Jr. The two became inseparable .Dora Lee established a career with the federal government. First as a cashier at Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York.

She then took a position at West Point  Military Academy at the cadet Bank where her smile and love was contagion. Dora also served as an affirmative Action Officer during her tenure at West Point and spent almost 30 years of employment between those government military locations .

Dora was beautiful inside and out. She loved to cook, shop and most of all she LOVED HARD. Friends , Family, nieces and nephews cherished her dearly, she became ''Aunt Dora'' to many.

After relocating to Northern Virginia, she continued her civilian service with DCMAE, an extension of  D.O.D.

In 2012 after 40= years of civilian service Dora retired from federal employment, veteran affairs, (DOD). Dora's beautiful presence made people gravitate towards her, she became known as ''Diva Dora'' and her group of friends/sisters became known as the ''DIVAS''. Her famous potato salad almost caused fights from New York all the way down to North Carolina, where she spent the final years of her beautiful life. Dora was ABSOLUTE, when it came to family. Love, and Standards.

Dora Lee was pre-deceased by her husband Thomas J. Brown Jr.(2011) and mother-in-law, Rosa L.Brown.

Dora Lee leaves to cherish her. Beautiful memoir three children; Shavonda ''Tanee'' Brown of Woodbridge, VA JolLonda M. Brown of Greensboro NC  and Thomas J. Brown lll of Woodbridge VA: two grand daughters; Shaquanna M. Brown of Greensboro , NC and Tiana Lee  Hanford of Fairfax, VA. 1 great-grandson Jakori T. Harris of Greensboro, NC ; 1 god - daughter Lisa McGhill-Scott of Charlotte, NC; 1godson Roland "Noodles'' Willis: 1 sister, Mildred Wilson of New Windsor; 1 brother David McNair of Newburgh NY and sister-in-law Debora Brown-Johnson(Neville) of Albany,NY ; Krista Brown of Poughkeepsie, NY and Katrina Brown of Troy, NY and a host of nieces , nephews, family and close friends.

Dora will be greeted in heaven by her late sweetheart Thomas Brown, her mother and father Marshall & Emily McNair, 3 sisters, Bernice, Virginia, ''Ginger'' and & Viola ''Ola'' and 4 brothers, Marshall Jr, Joseph, Edward and Richard.
