Dee Jay Welton Richardson, age 73, passed away June 1st, 2024 at Trellis Supportive Care in W-S, NC after a lengthy illness.
Dee was born May 29, 1951, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Melvin M. Welton & the late Anna Mae Long Welton. Preceding in death, sister Stephanie Mason.
Dee is survived by her sons; James Lewis (Amanda), Benjamin Lewis, Ryan Richardson; grandchildren Mikayla Lewis, Makenzie Baldwin (Garrett) and Chase Lewis; sister Melva Bible (Richard); along with a number of nephew and nieces.
During her life Dee had many accomplishments. She was a Nurse, worked in Pediatric Oncology, an Aesthetician, and Hair Stylist. She also had a passion for the performing arts. She was involved in many theatrical and music performances. She was a talented actress, singer, and makeup artist. She performed at the Little Theatre of W-S, later renamed The Twin City Stage
and also Korner’s Folly Theatre in Kernersville, NC.
Dee always wore a joyful smile and was such a light for everyone. Her laughter was contagious and would bring healing to one’s soul. She was a strong independent woman with a huge heart. Her love for her family was infinite. She instilled in her sons strong values that will continue to serve them throughout their lives. She will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts.
