Mrs. Dannie J. Zellous passed away at her home with her family by her side, on December 25,2024, her funeral will be Friday, January 3, 2025 Visitation at 11:00AM - 12:00Noon   Funeral Services starts at !2:00 at The Refuge Church. 3008 E. Bessemer Ave, Greensboro, NC  27405. Burial at 2:00PM @ Guil-rand Memorial Park Cemetery 1550 NC Hwy, 62 West High Point, NC 27263

Dannie Jean Smith-Zellous was born July 13, 1943 in Hoffman, North Carolina to the late Lucy Belle Mariah McDow-Smith & Roscoe Henry Smith.  Her family migrated to Pittsburgh, PA (Hill District) when she was 4 years old.  She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Lee Grant Smith. 

She attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and after graduating Westinghouse High School, she attended cosmetology school and became a licensed beautician.  She met and married Frank B. Zellous in 1965 and together they raised 7 children. 

Dannie was also known for her amazing cooking and baking skills and would feed anyone who needed a meal.  Because of her love for people Her home was often filled with her siblings, extended family members in addition to her children.  

She got saved and filled with the Holyghost October 26, 1969.  Her love for God continued throughout her life and she raised her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.  She was a faithful member and was a licensed and ordained Minister at the New Jersualem Holiness church.  She later became a faithful member of the  Covenant Whosoever Will Church and greater Pittsburgh Fountain of Life.  In July 1987 Pastor Dannie Zellous founded  Lily of the Valley Church.  In 1993 she planted another church called Place of Refuge.  

Dannie was preceded in death by her parents and 5 siblings, Roscoe Henry Smith, McDow Smith, Thomas Smith, Linda Smith, Susan Smith.  She leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her death, her children; Angela (Angel) Peters (husband Ron), Pamela Milton, Kirk Zellous (wife Monica), Harrison (Rocky) Zellous, Damian Zellous (wife Odaylah), Linda Zellous, Nahshon Zellous.  17 Grandchildren; Jeffrey (L.J.) Waddell (wife Alexis), Justinn Waddell, LaRonn Peters, Brandon Zellous, Tia Hawkins (husband Lavan), Tiffany Waddell, Tamara Harris, Andre Zellous-Thomas, Keesha Smith, Kayla Zellous, Jon Zellous, Christofer Zellous, Kirk (KJ) Zellous Jr., Jamie (Jay) Couser, Zaniah Zellous, Nevaeh Zellous, Zephaniah Zellous, Cayden Zellous;  16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
