Cynthia Ann Gainer Johnson, 78, peacefully journeyed to her heavenly home on April 27,2024., at Heartland Rehab Facility. Born on March 2, 1946, in Greensboro, NC, Cynthia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. sister and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Robert Gainer Sr., her husband of 48 years Elmer (Charlie) Johnson, sons Vic Davis and Charles (Chuck) Johnson, and brother William Gainer.
Cynthia's legacy of love and support lives on through her surviving family members: sons William, James (Jimi), Walter, and Mark Johnson ( Maranda) : sister Margo Lang (Foran): brother Robert Gainer Jr.: sister-in-law Alina Gainer; granddaughters Rebecca Johnson , Courtney Peters, Gracie Johnson, Isabella Johnson, and Nyla Johnson: great granddaughter Everly Huffman: grandsons Christopher Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Kody Johnson, Mark (Deuce) Johnson ll, Brantley Johnson, and Bryson Johnson: great-grandson Jaxton Taylor: her cherished grand dog Holly, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cynthia's warmth and kindness extended beyond her family circle. She Built lasting friendships with her customers at Brown- Gardiner Fountain, Pops Market and Grill, and The Greensboro County Club, where she retired.
Her faith was central to her life, and she was deeply involved in her church community at Bethel Baptist Church. Cynthia's loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A service to celebrate Cynthia's life will be held on Saturday, May 4,2024, at 12:00 noon at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 2230 Lee's Chapel Road, Greensboro. Pastor Steve Gunter will officiate the ceremony.
