Crystal Nicole Martinez of Lexington, North Carolina, transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 43, in the comfort of her home. Born on May 12, 1982, in Lexington, she was the cherished daughter of Betty Shaw, and from an early age, radiated a light and joy that touched everyone around her.

Crystal was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her bright smile and signature dimples could light up any room, and her kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She had a generous heart and never hesitated to help others in need—always offering her support without a second thought.

Crystal leaves behind a legacy of love and precious memories that will forever be cherished by her mother, Betty Shaw; her beloved children, Lucas Carrillo-Ruiz and Matthew Carrillo-Ramirez;

her sisters, Keisha Watson and Felicia Duncan; her nieces, Taylor Watson and Miya Watson; as well as a host of aunts, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

A celebration of Crystal’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Near Calvary Baptist Church, 335 Lee Smith Rd, Lexington, NC 27292.
