Chinita Antoinette Howard, 61, of Chapel Hill, N.C, transitioned on April 15, 2025, at Beacon Place surrounded by family.
Chinita was born on August 6, 1963, in Greensboro, N.C, to Dorothy Demps and the late Franklin Howard. She was a 1981 graduate of James B. Dudley High School. Following high school, she went on to earn a B.S. in Communications from North Carolina A&T State University. Chinita wore many hats and touched countless lives through her professional career. She served in respected roles at WNAA 90.1, Jefferson Pilot, American Express, Guilford County Health Department and Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools.
She was proceeded in death by brothers Albrey Howard and Christopher Caviness
She is survived by children Phillip McLaughlin and Corey McLaughlin (Dinh Hyiak) grandchildren Devin, Demi-Rose and Bruce McLaughlin. Sibling Choona Howard (Norris) of Greensboro NC, Anthony Caviness (Rhonda) of Kernersville, NC, Ebony Caviness of Greensboro NC, Rodney Douglas (Dionne) of Townsend, DE, Jeffery Douglas (Kemi) Greensboro, NC, and Kevin Douglas of Greensboro NC.
Chinita was also a cherished aunt to Tamaria,, Jasmine, Denzel, Essence, Destinee, Kiara, Roxanne, Jenea, Jamelia, Damitriah, and Imani, and a loving great-aunt to Nyree’ and Malik.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 9th, at 1:00 pm at Love and Faith Christian Fellowship, 4344 Blackberry Road, Greensboro, NC – Family Visitation from 12:30pm– 1:00pm
Any rooted plants as well as cards can be sent to 4100 Sacramento Drive Greensboro, NC 27406. All other flowers should be sent to Love and Faith Christian Fellowship on the day of the Memorial Service.
