Bryan Smith Obituary

Bryan C. Smith was born October13,1957. In the presence of his family and close friends, Bryan concluded a life well lived on August 23,2022. He never met a stranger and had numerous of friends from all walks of life. He could converse on almost any subject, he was a natural musician and played the guitar, fiddle, and many other instruments, he was also a talented songwriter. He was always optimistic and positive and had a wonderful sense of humor.

He was fondly nickname, Song bear ,for his passion for music, large stature, and his love of outdoors. He work ethic and talent led him to a career in service of others. One of which was a firefighter for the Stokesdale fire department. Over the years he was also employed by  Federal Express, the Greensboro Transit Authority and most recently UNC Rockingham Heath Care. At one time, he  even co- owned a garage called 158 Motors.

Bryan loved to communicate, and he kept in touch with everyone. You could probably fill the Greensboro Coliseum  with all the people whose lives he touched. He left behind his music, so we will always be able to hear his voice. One of his fondest memories was performing at ,The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. If there is a band in the great beyond, he is all signed up.

We cherish the memories we keep with us and carry them in our hearts. Beloved son, brother, partner, loving father and reliable friend and maybe his best  role was proud Papa Bear to his grandson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Resh, his stepfather Phillip Resh, and his nephew Carson Hooper who were there to welcome him at heaven's gate.
